Taiwanese brand SYM is all about scooters. The brand’s models focus on practical and affordable city mobility, with a wide selection of scooters to suit most budgets. We’ve talked a bit about the company’s scooters in the past and, for 2024, its model range is growing with the addition of a new adventure-style scooter.
The adventure scooter segment popularized by the Honda X-ADV in 2016 has seen many new entrants, and the SYM ADX 300 is the newest of the bunch. It’s a step up from the ADX 125, which was launched in October 2023, and offers a little more performance and premium features than its smaller sister, while retaining the same rugged styling. Speaking of which, the ADX 300 has a mini beak at the front, a high windshield and an angular fairing. It also gets all-LED lights that enhance its aesthetics and give it a more premium look and feel.
As far as the ADX 300’s technology is concerned, it has a 278.3 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine with a maximum power of 25.8 hp and a torque of 26 Nm, which puts it at the level of maxi-scooters of this displacement in terms of performance. It has 15-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels and is equipped with front and rear disc brakes for safe braking.
As for the elements that make this adventure scooter a scooter, well, it has plenty of under-seat storage, a large seat spacious enough for two riders, a long floor for a comfortable seating position and handles for comfortable riding for two. The adjustable windshield and built-in hand guards also provide additional protection from the elements. As well as being a scooter, the ADX 300 is designed to go beyond the usual route, so SYM has taken the frame of the Joyride 300 and reinforced the central part to increase rigidity. The fuel capacity has also been increased from 11.5 liters to 16 liters.
At the time of writing, SYM has yet to announce the price and availability of its latest adventure scooter. We can, however, expect to see it hit European roads in 2024, as reported by several sources in the region.
