The Japan Mobility Show 2023 is quickly approaching. It is scheduled to take place between October 28 and November 5, 2023, in Tokyo. At the end of September 2023, Honda revealed some of the innovations it will bring to this year’s event, including the electric and foldable Pocket Concept motorcycle, which fits inside its Sustaina-C electric hatchback concept.

On October 3, 2023, it was Suzuki’s turn. Although Suzuki no longer sells four-wheeled vehicles in the US market, they are quite popular in other parts of the world. From fan favorites like the Suzuki Jimny to everyday cars like the Suzuki Swift, you can see them as part of regular traffic if you visit many places around the world. As a result, the company plans to present several two and four-wheeled projects, among others, at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.

When it comes to two-wheelers, the 2023 Japan Mobility Show will be the stage for three world premieres of Suzuki vehicles. The first is a foldable electric scooter called e-PO. Developed by Suzuki in cooperation with Panasonic, it is intended to function as an electric assist bike, but better. Although it has pedals, its main goal is to ride without pedaling – and also be safe for highway use. The e-PO will have three operating modes: Full electric drive, Assisted drive, or Pedal drive.

Another collaboration between Suzuki and Panasonic, this is a beautiful electric scooter equivalent to Suzuki’s 50cc Choinori gas scooter launched in the early 2000s. It also uses a motor developed for an electric assist bike and is intended to be a small-displacement urban vehicle.

Suzuki chose the 2023 Japan Mobility Salon as the place to unveil to the world its first hydrogen-powered two-wheeler. The company calls it a test vehicle, not a concept – but Suzuki is currently researching hydrogen engine development and has not yet put it into any level of production.

The exhibition will include a test vehicle using a Burgman 400 ABS equipped with a 70 MPa (megapascal) hydrogen tank and engine. Additionally, Suzuki will host panels and show videos to illustrate their progress in hydrogen engine development.
