The final four participants in the second qualifying for the Moto2 Thai GP are confirmed. Somkiat Chantra led Q1 in Buriram and moves forward, along with Darryn Binder, Sergio García, and Ayumu Sasaki.
After multiple riders lost their initial laps due to yellow flags early in Q1, Binder (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP/Kalex) initially led, followed by Jorge Navarro (OnlyFans American Racing Team/Kalex), Izan Guevara (CFMOTO Inde Aspar/Kalex), and Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia/Kalex), who held the other qualifying spots.
The top four remained the same until the mid-session pit stops, but Guevara and Chantra overtook Navarro to move into second and third, respectively. Navarro soon responded, regaining his position over Chantra.
With less than two minutes remaining, the standings shifted significantly. García (MT Helmets-MSi/Boscoscuro) and Sasaki (Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team/Kalex) overtook Binder, with Guevara dropping to fourth. This left Navarro and Chantra out of the qualifying zone.
Chantra managed to respond on his last lap, taking the lead and securing his Q2 spot. Binder improved to finish second, 0.234s behind, while García took third, and Sasaki clinched the final spot by just 0.020s ahead of Guevara.
