Aprilia Racing will enter 2025 in a ‘new era’ in MotoGP with a completely revamped duo and Massimo Rivola was very clear, when welcoming the riders, in explaining that he wants very open and honest communication between everyone, and especially between the riders, even if sometimes the language is not the most “friendly”.
In a new phase of the Noale manufacturer, the MotoGP website showed images of the reception of the riders in the Italian garage and Rivola, CEO of the team, speaking clearly and openly to everyone: ‘This was to show Jorge and Marco that we made a journey and reached the end of an era. Now we start a new one: the new era of Jorge and the new era of Marco, and the new era of Fabiano [Sterlacchini], the new technical director’.
Anticipating more complicated moments in the team, Rivola underlined communication as essential, and even allowing a more “intense” use in the relationship between the riders: ‘There will be some tough moments and are some that are even tougher. The recipe to overcome these moments is actually very simple: talk about everything, how are things going? Sometimes we will need to say different things to each other and, once in a while you can even tell each other to «f*** off». It’s fine. It’ll be easier for you with all that adrenaline pumping’.
And he also left a guarantee, stating that the team will do everything to give the best to the riders: ‘Our approach will be to transmit the best conditions to both in the best of our abilities. Without playing any games or tricks. You should know that you are the figures driving hundreds of families who work for you. You also have this responsibility’.
