Pedro Acosta led the warm-up session for the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix in Mugello. This session was intended for final preparations ahead of this afternoon’s main race, with lap times being secondary and not providing solid indications.
The initial leader of the session was Enea Bastianini (Ducati), ahead of Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM) and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha). Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), the Sprint race winner, was 14th.
Despite the drop in lap times, Bastianini managed to maintain the lead with his second flying lap, followed by Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM), with Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) moving up to third.
As Bastianini held onto first place, Acosta was overtaken by Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Espargaró, dropping to fourth. However, Acosta improved in the last minute to climb back to the top.
Shortly after, Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac/Ducati) positioned himself in third. The front positions remained unchanged until the end. Acosta led by 0.082s ahead of Bastianini, with Morbidelli in third.
Álex Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) completed the top five. Championship leader Martín recorded the sixth fastest time, while Bagnaia only managed 18th.
