Pedro Acosta closed 2023 on a high note, becoming Moto2 world champion, and in 2024 he will take on another challenge in the premier two-wheel category.
‘I have to analyse a lot of things before I say I’m going to win the championship. I have to be realistic and take the necessary steps that I need to take’ said the #31 rider in an interview with the spanish website Relevo.
And continued: ‘I hope everything goes well and I have to face myself. Brad Binder is demonstrating a very high level with KTM. Will I try to do the same? Why not? One day the moment will come when I can compare myself to him’.
In the premier class, the rider will be competing against one of his references, Marc Marquez. ‘Of course I’d like to face him. He’s been in the category for many years and he’s moved to a team with a more competitive bike, so realistically it might take some time to adapt. Ever since I was 16 I’ve been called Marc Marquez again. It was difficult at first, but in the past we’ve stopped talking about it so much’, he concluded.
The 19-year-old will take on the challenge of riding one of the GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 bikes in MotoGP, where he will be joined by Augusto Fernández.
