Pedro Acosta was one of the fastest riders during the MotoGP tests at Misano, being the first non-Ducati rider on the list of fastest riders, and is among those who were not positively surprised by the tire that Michelin brought to the tests.
The rookie clarified, when asked by the press about the matter, what he thought of the solution the supplier had brought, and despite his lesser experience – he’s the only rookie – compared to the others, it was obvious to him that it wasn’t an improvement:
– I honestly didn’t like the new tire at all. I don’t know, I felt… well, the grip isn’t bad, but the braking is very soft, it feels even more like what we have now but with more grip. It’s hard to say I liked it because I was handcuffed so it’s hard to say anything, but I heard a lot of things in the paddock but it’s hard for me to say anything.
It’s worth remembering that next year Acosta will be wearing orange, as he has been promoted to the KTM factory team, where he will take Jack Miller’s current seat, and thus become Brad Binder’s teammate.
