Pecco Bagnaia is on a roll and has just taken pole position for the San Marino GP, and with a record lap! The Italian proved to be in very good form in this very special GP for him. Jorge Martín once again missed out on the front row of the grid, in a session where Marc Márquez once again crashed out.
The fight for pole position was about to begin and it was full of stars of the category, from championship leader Jorge Martín to reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia and even Marc Márquez, who once again savoured his victories in the last GP with total dominance, but always with riders like Marco Bezzecchi, Brad Binder, Álex Márquez, Enea Bastianini and others in mind.
After the first two laps, Bagnaia was the leader with a time of 1:30.928s, ahead of Pedro Acosta and A. Márquez, the fastest riders behind him. The times improved on the following lap, with the #1 improving his record to 1:30.581s, and now with Martín in second, 0.064s behind.
The riders were heading back to the garage to finalise the details for the final outing and pole position!
Back on track, Bagnaia was determined to give his all and immediately went on the attack, improving his time in style and setting a new Misano lap record, 1:30.304s. What a pace for the Italian!

This was followed by a crash by M. Márquez, who lost control of his motorbike at turn 15.

Bezzecchi was soon on the front row of the grid with third place behind Franco Morbidelli.
The session was rapidly drawing to a close and Martín seemed to be struggling to be among the riders with a front row seat once again.
In fact, Bagnaia confirmed yet another record pole position!
