The first week of the Dakar is complete, consisting of a prologue, five stages, and seven days of competition (the second stage extended over two days, in the Chrono 48H).
Daniel Sanders (Red Bull KTM) has won four times, and he is one of the three riders who have won stages so far. The other two were Lorenzo Santolino (Sherco) in stage 3 and Adrien van Beveren (Monster Energy Honda) in stage 5.
The Indian manufacturer, one of the strongest contenders alongside Honda and KTM, has yet to celebrate any stage wins. However, they are still fully in the fight.
Currently, Ross Branch is in fourth place, 25m48s behind the leader. The lead is held by Sanders, who has a 15m02s advantage over Tosha Schareina (Monster Energy Honda).
