Ducati has been the strongest manufacturer in MotoGP in recent years and is now paying the price for success: the new concessions system leaves the Italians severely limited in bike development, unlike their opponents.
Gigi Dall’Igna, Ducati Corse’s General Manager, admitted to La Gazzetta dello Sport that this is a factor that will create additional difficulties, expecting a tough season where it will be essential to start with greater competitiveness than in the last few years:
– It will be a challenging year because the regulations changed at the end of last year. Now we are a bit inferior to our opponents. They will have more concessions and the possibility to develop the bike more during the season. Precisely for this reason, we will have to start the year perhaps with a faster pace than in 2022 and 2023. It will be a significant challenge.
