Following the launch of the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE at EICMA 2022, it is now time to announce the launch of the base version of the model, the V-Strom 800.
While the V-Strom 800DE was developed as a true Dual Explorer, with benchmark performance both on and off-road, already recognized for its excellence in both situations, this version essentially focuses on high comfort and performance when used on the road, over long distances and at a lively pace, without losing all its versatility and suitability for other types of surfaces.
The new V-Strom 800 performs well on any road, giving the rider a marked sense of freedom and the confidence to tackle them.
Sharing a number of features with the V-Strom 800DE, such as its engine, SDMS, STCS and bi-directional Quick Shift, the new version comes with 19″ and 17″ aluminum wheels at the front and rear respectively, fitted with Dunlop D614 tubeless tires.
At the front, it also has Hitachi Astemo (SHOWA) SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork – Big Piston) inverted suspension, adjustable for spring preload and optimized for long road rides, giving high confidence in corners and ensuring the necessary stability on the straight.
In terms of electronics, there are no longer any specific off-road settings, but the 3-stage Traction Control with the possibility of turning it off (STCS), the two-stage ABS and the 3 driving modes (SDMS), accompanied by the aforementioned bi-directional Quick Shift with exemplary operation.
The well-known 776cm3 parallel twin-cylinder engine is specially prepared for the challenges posed by long road rides, with unique performance from low revs and always available.
Its main features are as follows:
– 776cc parallel twin-cylinder engine with 270º crankshaft lag

– Operating sound similar to a V-engine;
– New, innovative counterbalance system for smoother operation;

– USB socket next to the instrument panel
The model will be available in 3 colors by the end of this year, including the A2 version, with power limited to 35 kW. Price to be announced soon.
