Honda is gearing up to launch the new models of its popular PCX/160 series, bringing innovations to both the exterior design and engine performance. The 125cc version will be officially presented on February 6th, marking the beginning of a new generation of this scooter that has won over fans worldwide.
Four Exclusive Colors for the Fifth Generation PCX
Announced in Europe in November 2024 and in Indonesia in December, the new PCX series promises to surprise the Japanese market. The new PCX125 and PCX160 will debut in early February, with high expectations from enthusiasts.
Since its launch in 2010 in Japan, the PCX has evolved, and the current version, launched in 2021, brought a complete renewal of the frame and engine, introducing the eSP+ engine to comply with the strict Euro 5 emission standards. The name change from PCX150 to PCX160 reflected the increase in displacement to 156cc, bringing an improvement in performance.
In this new edition, the main focus is on the exterior design, which has been enhanced to offer more modern and aggressive lines. The engine, in turn, has been updated to meet new environmental regulations.

The visual highlight is the new front mask, which maintains the characteristic V-shaped light but with a more striking touch. Every detail of the fairings has been adjusted to create sharper angles, providing a more elegant and sporty appearance.
The new color palette, completely revised for the Japanese market, includes Pearl Snow Flake White, Pearl Magellan Black, Pearl Jupiter Gray, and Matte Starry Blue Metallic. These shades will be available in both the 125 and 160 versions, all with a two-tone black and gray seat.
Technological and Aesthetic Updates
Although the European and Indonesian models feature a color LCD panel, the Japanese market will retain the traditional monochrome panel, now with a new decorative style that adds a three-dimensional touch. Additionally, the inclusion of a new handlebar cover provides a more sophisticated and modern look.
Updated Engine and Strict Regulations
The engine of the new PCX160 has been adjusted to comply with new emission standards, with changes to the ECU and the position of the catalyst. An important novelty is the introduction of tamper-proof nuts in the exhaust system of the 160 model, in compliance with OBD-2 regulations, which will come into force at the end of 2024. These changes prevent the replacement of non-original exhaust systems.
Despite these updates, the fuel efficiency of the 125 model has slightly decreased, while that of the 160 model has improved. The new design has also brought a slight increase in the height and weight of the 160 model.
Accessories and Launch Expectations
Among the new accessories, a body protection shield stands out, promising to improve aerodynamics and comfort during riding. With all these changes, the new generation of the PCX promises to offer a perfect balance between style, functionality, and environmental compliance. The official launch is eagerly awaited by fans of the brand.
