The Valencian Community Grand Prix will remain a part of the MotoGP calendar at least until 2031. The Circuit Ricardo Tormo, a fan and paddock favourite, has secured a new contract ensuring five races between 2027 and 2031.
The Cheste circuit, known for its natural stadium-like layout, offers an almost complete view of the track to the thousands of fans who fill the grandstands every year to witness the spectacle of motorcycle racing. Additionally, its impeccable organisation and proximity to Valencia, one of Europe’s most vibrant and culturally rich cities, make this event one of the most anticipated of the season.
Thanks to these qualities, the Valencia Grand Prix has already been awarded the title of Best Grand Prix multiple times. With this new contract, it remains a strong contender for the award in the years to come.
A renewed commitment to motorcycle passion
Carlos Mazón, President of the Generalitat Valenciana, celebrated the agreement, highlighting the event’s importance to the region:‘No other Grand Prix sells out as far in advance as Valencia. There is an immense passion for motorcycling here. This renewal comes in a context of great competitiveness, but we have always been convinced that we held the winning card. The key difference, apart from these magnificent facilities, is the fans’.
Mazón also emphasised the economic impact of MotoGP in the region, reinforcing that the event is a crucial driver for the financial and social recovery of the Valencian Community.
The General Manager of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Nicolás Collado, described the new contract as excellent news: ‘This agreement is a great source of pride for us. It shows that over the past 25 years, we have been doing things right. We are very grateful to the Valencian government for supporting motorcycling and to Dorna and MotoGP, especially after the challenges caused by the floods. Now, we are focused on rebuilding to ensure that the November Valencia GP will be the best ever.’
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, MotoGP’s rights holder, reinforced the importance of the circuit and its fans:
– Valencia has a unique atmosphere, thanks to the track layout and the incredible enthusiasm of the fans. The event is always packed, and the organisation does a fantastic job. After what happened in 2024, we want this long-term commitment to underline our confidence in Valencia. We are looking forward to returning this year and to many memorable Grands Prix until 2031.
With this agreement, Valencia remains one of MotoGP’s key venues, ensuring a bright future for fans and motorsport in the region.
