The 2024 season promises to be intense, especially for Miguel Oliveira, who is determined to once again show his winning potential in MotoGP. This year he has Aprilia’s most updated bike, but this brings added challenges even though the portuguese rider believes that everyone is better prepared.
With a new team, in name, there are some aspects that will be crucial to maintaining stability, and that’s exactly what happens with the team that accompanies Oliveira: ‘It’s good to come into the second year with the same team – technical staff – especially when we know that everything worked from the previous season. We certainly have some good support from Aprilia too and that’s important’.
Oliveira also left a small warning and explained that his task won’t be easy: ‘Having the factory bike isn’t easy and not everything will go smoothly and so we need that help. The staff is the same and that’s a very good thing’.
Regarding the fact that Massimo Rivola said there would be more Aprilia people with the Trackhouse, the Portuguese was asked if he had any idea how things would work in his team’s garage with this extra help:
– Considering that all the people who are allocated on the factory side, everyone who does background work, already gave us a hand last year and this season we’ll have basically the same support and probably a few more people inside the garage. These people will help to get things done in terms of performance but also in terms of managing the bike spare parts, and it’s not easy to manage spare parts, especially for two types of bike, especially when it happens in a team where there are different spare parts for the bikes.
And for the #88 there’s no doubt that everyone will be better now than in 2023: ‘I think they’re ready. Aprilia has experience of past seasons, of what the challenges are of supplying material to another team, and I think they’re much better prepared now than last season’.
