Miguel Oliveira is safe in MotoGP until the end of the current season but doesn’t feel that now it is the moment to speak about a possible contrac renewal, even saying that what he wants now it to ‘pay back’ Aprilia for their trust and do what he was hired to do.
About a possible renewal, the portuguese rider dismissed any talks at this point: ‘I finished, I think, nine races last year, out of 20 or 21 races we had. My only feeling, genuinely is that at the moment that I want to pay back the trust that Aprilia give on me and actually start doing the things they hired me to do, and that’s it’.
And then explained that he, among many, will be in the same situation: ‘For the future nineteen riders of the grid are without contract, so I am as worried as them. Finally it is what it is. I don’t agree that we should speak about next year on 27th of january. I think it’s a bit too soon and I think eventually we will get to that point when is necessary. At the moment it’s not in my plans to think about it’.
Oliveira was already pointed to the official Aprilia Racing team for 2025 but, at this point, it is too soon to guess what will happen as both Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales will also end their contracts.
