MotoGP testing at Mugello ended up being unproductive for all riders due to the rain that plagued the Italian circuit for most of Monday.
Despite not being able to carry out their respective programs, teams still have solutions in the pipeline – even without having been able to test them at Mugello.
For Aprilia, a new fairing is being prepared, with the regulations allowing for an update during the season. Miguel Oliveira, from the satellite team Trackhouse Racing, was asked if it could be ready by the British GP in August.
The Portuguese rider replied: ‘I don’t know, I’ve no idea. We wanted to test something today, but as you know we have the opportunity to homologate another version, and until we get that closed, we need to confirm that it’s a good direction first of all. It seems good, but we need to understand it ourselves to be able to make a step’.
