Miguel Oliveira and the Aprilia team in general have not had an easy time of it in recent rounds, and today – as throughout the weekend – at the Malaysian GP the problems were very evident, especially among the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team, and the Portuguese rider warned of the need for the manufacturer to be closer to the satellite team.
With last year’s version at his disposal, and which has been showing a lot of problems recently, Oliveira was asked about the need to see the Aprilia closer and didn’t shy away from emphasising the importance of that: ‘Yes, it’s the support. At the end of the day we’re racing with 2022 material, that’s it. It’s one-year-old material, with some recycled parts’.
Although he realises that there are problems in providing the best support in different areas, Oliveira believes that more is needed:
– But yes, I think Aprilia are doing everything they can, with the resources they have, to provide the best material and support they can. Of course we’d like more but it seems that at the moment it’s the best they can do and I hope we can improve that in the future and that’s why we’re here: we trust them, they trust us. We also have to, at this difficult time for them to support us, give this word of confidence to the manufacturer in the hope that they will support us a little more.
