Maverick Viñales led this afternoon’s MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix warm-up session. It was in the final moments that the Spanish rider set the fastest time of this session, which served to finalize preparations for the main race.
The initial leader of the session was Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas/KTM), ahead of Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati)… who surpassed the Spanish rider on the second flying lap.
The positions remained stable, while Fabio di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) climbed to third. Towards the end, Álex Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) took the lead, being 42 milliseconds faster than Bezzecchi.
However, both were overtook by Raúl Fernández (Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia). Bezzecchi briefly regained the lead before Viñales (Aprilia) set the fastest time of the warm-up (1m52.660s), beating him by 0.071s.
Raúl Fernández finished third, with Álex Márquez in fourth and Acosta closing the top five. Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), winner of the Sprint race, finished in 17th place.
