Maverick Viñales arrives at the Thai Grand Prix with high expectations for the next round of MotoGP. The Spanish Aprilia Racing rider, who has already stood on the podium twice at the Chang International Circuit in 2018 and 2019, is showing optimism after his recent performances at Motegi and Phillip Island, where he earned a front row grid position.
In a statement, the Aprilia Racing rider began by previewing the round in Buriram: ‘I am highly motivated because this is a track where I struggled last year. I’m ready,
since this is a circuit where I’ve finished on the podium most of the time since MotoGP has raced here’.
Confident, Viñales is aiming for a top-three finish: ‘I believe I can be rather fast here. We’ll try to bring out the best and put the RS-GP24 back on the podium’.
The rider’s confidence is bolstered by his positive record on the 4,550-metre Thai track, which is characterized by long straights alternating with demanding braking sections. The circuit, which joined the MotoGP calendar in 2018, has provided good results for Viñales over the years.
