Jorge Martín and a place at the factory Ducati team still seems nothing but a dream for the MotoGP runner up of 2023, with the rider himself to confess some unhappiness and despair for (still) not deserving a chance in the team.
After saying that his goal is to be in 2025 in a factory team, where is priority is Ducati, Martín confessed he was ready at the end of the season to move to the Borgo Panigale garage if the change came up, also admitting he even pressed his manager to have such possibility, as quoted on AS: ‘In Valencia I had two black jumpsuits ready in case I had to do the test in a different box. I wanted to join the official team and I pressed my manager to have the option’.
Martín went further and seems to believe that, even if he had won the world championship, he might still not have a chance to make the jump to the factory, which is messing with him as he doesn’t know more ways to prove he is worthy of such position:
– But I don’t think it changes anything if I won the championship or not. If Pecco crashes in Valencia and I win the race, then yes? What sense does that have? I resent the fact that it’s never enough. I don’t know what I have to do to prove more.
