Jorge Martín has certainly seen and analysed the last few races and already has the recipe to try and get a good result in this sunday’s long race in Buriram. The Pramac rider explained that he still had some doubts for this Sprint, but at the same time learnt important lessons for tomorrow.
‘It was difficult for me to understand what the Sprint would be like because I was always on very worn tyres. I saw the pace of Fabio [Quartararo], [Marco] Bezzecchi or even Pecco [Bagnaia], who were fast on new tyres, so I didn’t understand exactly what my position was but I felt I was going to be competitive and I was, even though I was hoping for more grip in the last five or six laps, I think I used too much at the start but certainly in the Sprint it’s ok and you can do it,’ said the rider who won the Sprint and regained points from Bagnaia in the fight for the championship.
For the spaniard, this coming sunday will be a different matter: ‘Tomorrow we’ll certainly have to take it easy and try to keep the tyre good for the end’.
Asked if he would use the medium tyre, Martín replied: ‘It’s hard to say. I was very competitive and we have to understand. I think it’s very difficult with the medium tyre, it’s very soft, so we’ll have to understand at the Warm Up’.
