Seventh in today’s Sprint at Valencia, Marco Bezzecchi regretted the mistakes he made during the race, which ultimately meant that his Desmosedici lost some performance and couldn’t be better placed.
The Mooney VR46 Racing Team rider, who today had the news officially confirmed that he won’t have Luca Marini as his teammate next year, considered today’s race… strange: ‘A strange race, but I still remain convinced of my choice on medium/medium. Today the air temperature was colder than yesterday and I wasn’t comfortable with the hard tyre yesterday. I lost a little bit when braking but, in general, the riding sensations were better’.
Bezzecchi finished the race 4.502s off the winner, Jorge Martín, and just 0.249s off the top five, led by Pecco Bagnaia, who explained that, especially after Fabio Quartararo’s crash and a few mistakes, he ended up not being as competitive as he would have liked:
– I started well, I tried to stay in the group. I overtook Fabio (Quartararo) and at that moment I was sure I could also overtake Pecco (Bagnaia) and close the gap on those in front. Then Fabio crashed right in front of me and I lost the contact. I made some mistakes and in the final stages of the race I wasn’t as competitive as at the start.
