Marco Bezzecchi made his MotoGP debut in 2022 with Pertamina Enduro VR46. After three years, he is now preparing to begin a new chapter in his career, moving to Aprilia next season.
But until then, he still has the current campaign to finish and farewells to make. What are the Italian rider’s goals for this final stretch with VR46?
A return to the podium is part of those objectives, as Bezzecchi stated in a press conference: ‘Of course I would like to make one more podium. In Jerez I was able to finish third, but I would like to try to make at least one more before going away’.
After finishing third in the championship in 2023, the #72 has struggled to replicate that level this year: adapting to the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 hasn’t been easy, and that has shown in his results.
Although he has gradually improved, Bezzecchi remains far from regularly fighting for podiums, with only one top-three finish so far – achieved at the Spanish GP in April.
