Marc Márquez will compete in the 2024 MotoGP season with Gresini aboard a Ducati. After the challenging past years with Honda, the rider aims to prove that he can still be fast on a competitive bike, but he does not set the title as his goal for the upcoming season.
Chicho Lorenzo analyzed the rider’s situation on Nico Abad’s Twitch channel. Jorge Lorenzo’s father argued that Márquez will have to convince Ducati to support him, considering that the manufacturer doesn’t necessarily need #93 after recent successes:
– Everything can be expected from Marc. The only doubt is being on a satellite team. He is with a manufacturer that doesn’t have any need for him – they’ve won in the last two years and have several young riders sharing victories. He will have to find a way to convince Ducati to support him. Let’s see what happens. For Ducati, him winning could even be bad publicity. So far, Ducati has been winning with various riders.
