Marquez confirmed this news himself, stating, “In the second part of the season, I suffered from compartment syndrome in my right arm. This morning, we solved the problem with the team of Dr. Ignacio Roger de Oña with the goal of being ready for 2024!” He shared a photo of his right arm in a bandage following the surgery.
This operation is a crucial step for Marquez as he prepares for his new chapter with Ducati. Despite the discomfort from the syndrome, Marquez’s performance during the MotoGP tests in Valencia was impressive, indicating his resilience and determination to compete at the highest level.
