One of the major questions in the MotoGP rider market for 2025 is the future of Marc Márquez. His contract with Gresini is only for this year, and with Pramac no longer an option, his choices within Ducati are either to stay where he is or move to the factory team.
In a press conference, the Spanish rider stated that those who need to know his plans are already informed: ‘Of course we had some interesting conversations and the people who need to know what and where I feel comfortable, they already know. I’m very clever with my ideas and the only thing I can do is try to be fast on the racetrack because like this we’ll have more options to chose’.
Márquez, who confirmed that the Ducati factory team and Gresini are the only options within the Italian manufacturer, said he is forced to have a deadline:
– Yes. I cannot say the deadline, but I have a deadline. Because one thing is here on the racetrack, but another thing are the personal sponsors, all these things, that you need to know. In the next months, the big companies are closing the budget for the next two years. So it’s something I need to have. I don’t like to have, but I’m forced to have a deadline to make my decision. Because if not, if you chose one team or another one, or one strategy or another one, some of my main sponsors cannot work well with those teams. I hope it’s before Sacshenring.
