Marc Márquez is currently experiencing his best form of the MotoGP season, with two consecutive victories and coming closer to the competitiveness of Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
With seven rounds remaining, the Gresini rider is 53 points behind the leader, while a Grand Prix offers a maximum of 62 points. Therefore, fighting for the title is not an unrealistic goal.
When asked during a press conference if he feels he’s riding well enough to have a chance at becoming champion, Márquez responded: ‘Of course we are riding better than in previous races, especially from Red Bull Ring we did a step – still not enough, they are a bit faster, and I need to improve a few things’.
That said, the Spaniard isn’t focused on the possibility of fighting for the title, as he explained: ‘But for me the most important thing is that I achieved all my targets for this year. If something is coming, it’s welcome. But I just try to enjoy and try to keep this level until the end of the season to prepare well for 2025’.
