All indications are that Marc Márquez will be the rider chosen by Ducati for the next MotoGP season. However, for the time being everything is just speculation, as nothing has been officially announced.
The only guarantee is that Jorge Martín will not be chosen. The current championship leader is heading to Aprilia, and the official announcement came this Monday – somewhat surprisingly.
And this confirmation suggests that Márquez will be chosen: after all, why would Ducati let a young talent with future prospects go and opt for a more veteran rider, unless it’s someone with the media profile of the eight-time world champion?
For his part, Márquez is calm about the future. Speaking to the championship’s official website, the #93 stressed that there are options that suit him better and it’s up to him to do his utmost:
– This is the biggest question market, but I’m quiet. As I said, I have the same ideas as I said on Thursday here at the Mugello GP. I’m very quiet, I’m doing my 100% and I have a few situations that I feel comfortable with. So, yeah, let’s see. I’m just trying to do my 100% to have more possibilites.
