At the end of November, Marc Márquez tested the Ducati Desmosedici GP23, the bike he will be riding in the 2023 MotoGP season with Gresini, for the first time. Now that the new year has begun, he finally spoke publicly about his new bike.
The Spaniard revealed to DAZN a positive initial adaptation: ‘I managed to adapt more quickly than expected because I felt very good right away. There’s a lot of feeling, and the lap time came without excessively seeking it. During the test, at the end of the day, we could use new soft tyres, and I was also performing well’.
Having said that, Márquez acknowledged that there is still a lot of work to be done: ‘There are things regarding positions and communication with the team that I need to understand. It’s logical because I’ve spent 11 years working with the same group, but they welcomed me very well. Everything is very pleasant, and this helps me to be more relaxed’.
