There are a number of bizarre and seemingly meaningless world records out there. For example, the fastest time to eat a burrito is 35 seconds and a guy who thought it would be a good idea to walk barefoot on LEGOs for 3.5 kilometers.
The world of motorcycles also has its fair share of world records, some very interesting and others rather pointless – the legendary Pol Tarres is the holder of several world records, having achieved feats of altitude and jumping aboard various motorcycles. In my opinion, these records are quite impressive.
But there are also other motorcycle world records from people all over the world that aren’t so tough and will make you say: “But… why?”
A good example of this comes from Mumbai, India, where a guy called Pandit Dhayagude decided he wanted to go down in history as the person who was hit by the most motorcycles ever. Of course, being hit over and over again by a bunch of motorcycles, no matter how small or light, takes its toll on the human body.
That’s why Pandit Dhayagude started training his abdominal muscles to withstand the collisions.
On his first attempt, he was hit by 121 motorcycles, before passing out, presumably from the pain of having the bikes constantly compress his ribcage. After more training and determination, Dhayagude broke his record – and maybe a few ribs – on May 7, 2023, after a total of 376 motorcycles ran him over.
For reference, it seems that Dhayagude used a set of Indian Scouts for his record attempt, each of which weighed around 244.9 kg.
That said, it seems that precautions were taken to minimize injury on Dhayagude’s part, as the full weight of the bike was never placed on his body thanks to the use of ramps.
One cheeky Instagram commenter was quick to point this out, challenging Dhayagude to ditch the ramps on his next attempt. Other commenters began by questioning the meaning of the record.
