Fabio Di Giannantonio achieved one of his life goals in MotoGP when he won the Qatar GP last November. It was a victory at a crucial moment, as he was on the brink of losing his place for 2024.
The result in Losail ultimately secured his continuity in the field, as he revealed that he had no contract signed at the time. He ended up being chosen by Pertamina Enduro VR46, giving him a sort of second chance.
In an interview with MOW Mag, Di Giannantonio talked about the feeling of winning for the first time in MotoGP. The comparison he used was curious, given the example he referred to:
– It’s strange to say, but the feeling you have when you live your passion and achieve one of the greatest goals of your life, with the bike of your life… I would give any money to relive that now. It’s too peculiar a sensation. Making love for the first time is beautiful, although sometimes it’s a disaster, but the first victory is crazy.
Interestingly, this is not the first time in recent months that a rider has used losing virginity as a term of comparison: in March, after the Qatar GP, Pedro Acosta said that his debut ‘is like when you lose your virginity – everything seems to go well and then you mess up somewhere’.
