Ninth day and another tough battle in Stage 9 of the 2025 Dakar Rally. Luciano Benavides showed that yesterday’s victory was no accident and repeated the feat today.
The KTM rider was the fastest to complete the 357 km timed stage, crossing the finish line in 3h15m38s, giving no chance to Adrien Van Beveren (Honda), who was 1m54s away, the closest to #77.
The last place on the podium was taken by the overall leader, Daniel Sanders (KTM), who arrived at the end of the day 3m04s after his teammate, beating two other riders from Ricky Brabec and Skyler Howes, who completed the top five.
Tosha Schareina (Honda), who is second overall, was seventh on this ninth stage, behind the best Hero rider of the day, Nacho Cornejo. Rounding out the top ten were Edgar Canet (KTM), Mathieu Doveze (BAS KTM) and Lorenzo Santolino (Sherco).
The leader remains Sanders with 14m45s over Schareina, while Van Beveren closes the top three overall with 20m21s behind the Australian.
