The MotoGP season is entering its decisive phase, with only five rounds remaining. Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) leads the championship by 21 points, and now more than ever, mistakes could be costly in the title fight.
The Spaniard admitted that last year, he struggled at this stage of the season, but this year he’s handling the pressure better: ‘I sleep much better now; last season was really difficult to manage for me – maybe not yet here in Japan, but more in Thailand and Malaysia, it was really tough; also Valencia’.
After enduring a nightmare during the Asian leg of last year’s calendar due to the pressure, Martín is now in a much better mental place, as he explained:
– I feel I improved a lot on the mental side, I worked a lot during all the season, and I did an amazing step. I’m enjoying now; I enjoy to go back on track, I enjoy riding. Last season it was the opposite. It was really a nightmare – even though I was winning, I didn’t enjoy at all. But now I’m enjoying, so I’m super happy. And I’m proud to be here, so it’s really good.
