KTM has unveiled its latest creation in the adventure motorcycle segment, the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo, which promises to be the brand’s most technological machine to date.
This new bike comes with significant improvements that, according to KTM, will “simply dominate the market” for adventure bikes.
Unrivaled power and performance
The new KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo features an engine with a larger displacement, from 1300cc to 1350cc, which offers an impressive 173 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. This power has led to the bike being tested on the track, demonstrating its vocation for both adventure and sporting performance that rivals any other motorcycle in this segment.
Cutting-edge technology at the service of adventure
At the top of KTM’s adventure motorcycle range, the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo stands out for its technological innovations. The engine has been redesigned with a new camshaft technology that improves handling at low engine speeds and increases performance at peak power. For the first time, KTM is introducing an automated manual transmission (AMT), a technology exclusive to this model, which represents one of the brand’s most innovative advances in recent years. This new system was tested for the first time in the hands of former rider Johnny Aubert, during the mythical Iron Road Prologue race at the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. KTM points out that this AMT is one of the most significant innovations in the development of the brand’s engines in recent times.
Chassis improvements and precision suspension
The structure of the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo has also been optimized, with an increase in frame rigidity, resulting in improved track stability and manoeuvrability. The new footrest positions, 8mm lower and 10mm wider, ensure greater comfort and control. As you’d expect from a KTM, the suspension comes from WP, a subsidiary of the brand. The semi-active suspension system (SAT) has been refined, providing a more consistent damping behavior, especially at higher frequencies. This precision has been achieved through new PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) sensors and a new fork construction that combines elements of the Open Cartridge and Closed Cartridge suspensions.
New design details and safety features
On an aesthetic and functional level, the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo comes with a redesigned fairing and seat, a completely new LED headlight and an improved windshield. The bike also features a new 8-inch TFT dashboard in vertical format, as well as an additional storage compartment. In terms of safety, KTM has equipped this bike with its latest Adaptive Cruise Control system, now with Brake Assist, Collision Warning and Distance Alert, significantly increasing the level of assistance to the rider in traffic situations or on long journeys.
Availability and color options
The KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo will be available in two color combinations: one version in orange and black, and another in white, black and orange, both highlighting the bike’s sporty and aggressive aesthetic.
