And then, in the second race of the AMA Supercross 250, Julien Beaumer achieved a special victory in his career, winning the San Diego SX, counting for the SX West title. Very enthusiastic, the win gave him a big boost in confidence, but Beaumer keeps his feet firmly on the ground.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider reacted to his victory in a team statement, first showing that he was very happy: ‘This is the first Main Event win of my career, but I’m trying not to get too excited about it right now, as we have a championship to go for. I didn’t have the greatest Heat, but made it happen when it counted! This is definitely confidence-boosting.’
Beaumer, who finished the race 3.087s ahead of Jordon Smith (second) and 5.773s ahead of Haiden Deegan (third), explained how such win helped him, but more important is to take it slow:
– At the start of this year I had a goal and I needed to believe in myself and I feel that I showed how much I believe in myself tonight. The track was pretty tight and I felt everything was built a little differently, so it was definitely tricky, but I’m really satisfied with the result tonight.
