Honda isn’t going through the best moment in MotoGP but one of the top riders of the grid doesn’t dismiss a possible change to the japanese manufacturer. Not for now at least, but Jorge Martín is watching with special care for the progress that the constructor is making.
Second in the 2023 world championship, Martín is still pursuing a place at the factory team of Ducati and can «apply» for it once again in 2024 but see a move to Honda something that isn’t completely out of option, as he told AS, also recalling Luca Marini, who left Ducati (then Mooney VR46 Racing Team) to try his luck with the RC213: ‘My position is different from Marini’s, because I am winning and he is stagnant. But If I see that the Honda improves a little, or that in the long term it can be a winning project, it would be a good option’.
Still, Martín made sure of pointing out what his main goal is at the moment: ‘But right now with Ducati I can enjoy it more’.
Martín and Honda isn’t nothing new, as the spaniard was linked to the brand a few times already, but right now it is certain that, at least until the end of 2024, Pramac will be his home, with the rider looking at the factory, once again in a battle with Enea Bastianini.
As for Luca Marini, the first impressions of the 2024 look good, and at the end of the season a place in the team might be more of an option for many.
