Jorge Martín claimed his first MotoGP world championship title this year, defeating Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), largely thanks to his performance in Sprint races.
While the Italian secured victory in 11 of the 20 main races, it was Martín’s dominance in Sprint events that made the critical difference. Additionally, the Spaniard failed to score points in only four races throughout the season.
Pedro Acosta highlighted Martín’s solid, error-free performance, emphasizing that he was a well-deserving champion in 2024:
– He deserved it. He took a big step compared to last season. Maybe he didn’t win so much races at the moment, but he was so f*cking consistent – the consistency that I missed, he gained. He was super calm, he was not making mistakes, he was not losing time… he really deserves it.
