The preparations for the Indonesian MotoGP have concluded with this morning’s warm-up session in Mandalika. Jorge Martín was the fastest in a session where lap times hold less significance.
The first rider to complete a timed lap was the Spaniard from Prima Pramac, who was soon beaten by Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). Then, Raúl Fernández (Trackhouse/Aprilia) briefly took the lead.
After that, Martín kicked off a series of three fast laps that kept him at the top for five minutes until Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) edged ahead. However, on his final lap, Martín clocked the best time with a 1m30.511s, beating the eight-time world champion by just 50 milliseconds.
Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac/Ducati) finished third, with the top five rounded out by Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) and Raúl Fernández. After having led earlier in the session, Bagnaia, the 2022 and 2023 champion, finished down in 14th place.
