Jorge Lorenzo is taking a new step in his motorsport career. This year, he will compete in GT3 with Lazarus Corse, driving an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 that he has already had the chance to test.
After retiring from MotoGP, the rider from Palma de Mallorca has been dedicating himself to cars in recent years: he started in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, but he has also participated in races in the Porsche Supercup and Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
The GT category in which Lorenzo will compete has not been revealed yet. Lazarus Corse has extensive experience and, in 2016, was the champion of the International GT Open.
Quoted by the site Motosan.es, Lorenzo stated: ‘The passion for motorsports has always been part of my life, even on four wheels. I met people who gave me the opportunity to plan a project together. I would like to thank Lazarus and Aston Martin Racing for giving me the opportunity to start a new journey that I hope will lead me to significant goals in the world of motorsports’.
