Jordi Torres and Héctor Garzó were the fastest riders in the MotoE practice sessions for the Dutch GP. Yes, you read that correctly: the two finished the second session with identical lap times, setting a new record for the category at the Assen circuit.
Chaz Davies (Aruba.it MotoE) was the first to complete a flying lap before Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) overtook him. The championship leader reinforced his position by improving immediately afterward.
Héctor Garzó (Dynavolt Intact GP) claimed the top spot with his first flying lap, setting a new circuit record at 1m39.965s… only to be matched by Torres (Openbank Aspar), who also clocked in at 1m39.965s.
Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) finished third, just 0.040s behind, followed by Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing) at 0.074s. The top five was completed by Miquel Pons (Axxis-MSi).
Eric Granado (LCR E-Team), who had led the first session, ended up in eighth place, 0.381s behind Torres and Garzó. This performance secured him the last direct slot in the second phase of qualifying, narrowly pushing Oscar Gutiérrez (Axxis-MSi) out by just 0.002s.
