Last year, for the first time, there was talk of a future joint event where Formula 1 and MotoGP would have a Grand Prix at the same circuit and on the same weekend.
The idea of bringing together the two premier categories of track motor racing is still on the table. Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna, stated, as quoted in the Marca newspaper:
– With Stefano Domenicali [CEO and president of F1], with whom I have an extraordinary relationship for many years, we have been planning for a long time. It’s not easy, but we haven’t given up on it. If it’s possible, we’ll do it.
