Johann Zarco finished 11th in the MotoGP Malaysian GP, continuing his trend of results close to or within the top ten since the Indonesian GP. The LCR Honda rider is now in 17th place in the championship.
The Frenchman believes that the Sepang round was a confirmation of the improvements he has made in these five rounds in Asia and Oceania, which have brought him closer to the results he aimed for at the beginning of the season:
– I’m pretty happy with this race, with this result, and it’s a good confirmation of these overseas races, where I made a huge step forward in the standings. And I’m clearly in the position target that I announced at the beginning of the year. So, it may have taken a bit of time, but it’s better late than never.
When questioned about the source of these improvements, Zarco stated: ‘We’ve improved a lot in the fast corners. I think we’ve got a bike that is turning better because of the aero, and this has helped us to make a step’.
