With Marc Márquez’s departure, Repsol Honda no longer has one of the riders who receives the most attention from the press and the public – this at a time when they are seeking to truly begin their recovery towards the top positions after poor results in recent years.
Joan Mir is in the team for the second consecutive season, now without Márquez. However, he does not believe that the departure of the six-time premier class champion and the fact that he is not in the spotlight as much will change his work:
– I think this depends a bit on how you personally approach it. I believe that, whether you are in the media spotlight or not, the work in the box always has to be the same: being 100% committed to it. It doesn’t change much for me in certain things because there are no media spotlights inside the garage. We are in the team, it’s just us, and the work is done the same way.
