Honda is taking steps forward but… it’s not enough yet. This is Joan Mir’s belief, who showed confidence that for the manufacturer to return to the desired level and a higher competitive status is just ‘a matter of time’.
The Spaniard had his second year with the manufacturer in 2024 and even renewed for two more years showing his confidence in the brand’s project, as he explained to Crash: ‘We are improving, getting closer, but it’s not enough. This is what we can see’.
Nevertheless, the former world champion made it clear that the level is not yet compatible with Honda’s greatness, but that they must continue working until the results come, with time being crucial at this stage:
– We are not in the position we want. But I still believe in the project and it’s a matter of time, with the amount of work we are doing, to get where we want to be.
The rider had previously mentioned that he wasn’t experiencing such difficulties with the RC213V, and that the team was still far from the competition, but by stating
that ‘it will be a matter of time’, Mir shows signs that he has confidence in the project.
