The AMA Pro Motocross season kicked off this Saturday at the Fox Raceway National in Pala Pala, with dominating victories from Jett Lawrence (450MX) and Haiden Deegan (250MX).
In the premier 450MX category, Jett Lawrence (Team Honda HRC) grabbed the holeshot and led from start to finish in the first race, gradually increasing his lead. He finished 5.058s ahead of his teammate Hunter Lawrence, who moved into second place after overtaking Aaron Plessinger midway through the race. The Red Bull KTM rider, Plessinger, finished third, followed by his teammate Chase Sexton.
The second race had a similar outcome. Hunter Lawrence secured the holeshot, but Jett Lawrence took the lead by the end of the first lap and never relinquished it. However, this time the competition was closer, with Jett Lawrence winning by just 1.349s over Sexton. Hunter Lawrence finished third, followed by Jason Anderson (Monster Energy Kawasaki). Overall, Jett Lawrence won with a perfect 50 points, while Hunter Lawrence scored 42 points. Sexton rounded out the podium with 40 points.
In the 250MX, Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM) took the holeshot in the first race and led for the initial three laps before being overtaken by Levi Kitchen. Kitchen, riding for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki, led for most of the race, but Haiden Deegan (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing) overtook him with two laps to go and won by 7.278s. Chance Hymas (Team Honda HRC) finished third, while Vialle ended up in sixth place.
The second race was dominated by Deegan, who took the holeshot and never lost the lead. Kitchen was his main competitor, finishing 1.912s behind. Vialle secured third place, more than half a minute behind, with Hymas in fourth. Deegan was the overall winner with a perfect 50 points, six points ahead of Kitchen. Vialle and Hymas both scored 38 points, with Vialle taking third place on a tie-breaker.
