Jacob Roulstone’s Moto3 season might have a delayed start after a serious training accident left him with a fractured vertebra.
According to SPEEDWEEK.com, the Australian Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider crashed while training in Jerez on a 600cc sport bike. He was initially treated at a local hospital before being flown to Barcelona, where a fracture in the C3 cervical vertebra was confirmed.
As a result, Roulstone is expected to miss the preseason tests in February and will have to wear a cervical collar for several weeks. Hervé Poncharal, Tech3 team owner, commented:
– Jacob’s situation is stable. The injury is serious, but he is receiving the best possible treatment, and doctors are confident he could return in about six weeks. It’s still a bit early to make final statements, but it’s very possible he could compete in the season’s opening round.
