Jack Miller said goodbye to KTM a little over a week ago when it comes to racing and the RC16 and although he undoubtedly recognizes that the bike is generally very good, it seems that time has stopped and there has even been ‘a step back’ , considers.
The new Pramac Racing/Yamaha rider spoke about the Austrian manufacturer’s bike, in his goodbye, quoted by Crash: ‘Obviously the engine is good, it’s strong. They’ve got a great performance package’.
And although it is highly competitive, as he considered, there is room to evolve, with the Australian mentioning at what points: ‘The bike is not slow. It could have a bit more bottom end, in terms of crack in the throttle, and a lower RPM to make a few more metres. The top end is good. The vibration is the one thing I’d be trying to fix’.
Even so, #43 clarified that the fact that the current year’s RC16 is so similar to that of 2023 ends up working against it, to the point of considering it to be a false step…
– The bike is very similar, apart from the engine, to last year’s. The chassis and the swingarm are the same. It was working really well, at the end of last year. But we took a step back this year.
