Ducati will lose two bikes from the grid starting in 2025, going from eight to six, a number that Jack Miller still considers very high, and which in practice in terms of results should change little, given what has been the trend over the last few years.
The rider, who is expected to return to Pramac Racing, which from next year will be a satellite team for Yamaha after many years of partnership with Ducati, said, quoted by Crash, that despite the reduction, there are still too many Borgo Panigale bikes on the track: ‘Only six Ducatis’, we say that like it’s a little thing. It’s still six bikes on the grid!’.
In the opinion of the Australian, who is still wearing the colors of KTM, the Desmosedici has been evolving consistently, and even this reduction will not mean a paradigm shift: ‘Anyway, I don’t think it will change [much]. I think Ducati, whether they’ve got 6 or 8 bikes on the grid, are going to be extremely strong regardless. Their bike is just slowly but surely, being perfected more and more and more. They’re touching the areas that they need to, and they’re lucky to be in that position’.
In fact, Miller believes that next year will be very interesting, even though the evolution and work of the Italian manufacturer does not stop being developed: ‘But they haven’t lifted their foot off the throttle. They’re still working as hard as they were in 2015-2016. So I think they’ll still be strong. Don’t count on it [2025] being an easier year [for everyone else] that’s for certain. But it’ll be interesting’.
