With Prima Pramac Racing set to move to Yamaha, Pertamina Enduro VR46 will become Ducati’s reference satellite team starting in 2025, receiving at least one current factory bike.
The VR46 team, owned by Valentino Rossi, made its debut in the premier class in 2022 after racing alongside Avintia the previous year. Since then, it has not received full support from the Borgo Panigale manufacturer.
That is set to change next year. Uccio Salucci, the team manager of VR46, told GPOne.com that he has long sought this level of support but never at the expense of others’ positions:
– So far I’m pleased to be Ducati’s reference team. I’ve been fighting to be that kind of team since 2021, but without displacing Pramac, as unfortunately happened. [Gigi] Dall’Igna is well aware of this, as I do not want to take the place of others but simply to receive the same treatment.
