Marc Marquez is ready to do his best in this final sprint in Honda colours, but he admits that especially in Sepang for now, and in the next round, he expects difficulties due to his riding style. The spaniard emphasised his desire to do well before saying goodbye to Honda.
In his preview of the race at Sepang, Marquez wasn’t very confident and admitted that he expected some difficulties, explaining why he felt that way: ‘Expectations are low [laughs]. No, they’re the same as in the last few races. The last few races we started by understanding where we were on friday but you can imagine, especially here and in Qatar, these are circuits where I have struggled more, not just the bike but myself because of my riding style, so I have to be focused, push and understand how to ride to be in the best shape and then Valencia follows, which is a better track for the way I ride’.
Starting his last races with the Repsol Honda Team, the #93 guaranteed that he will try to do his best, both as a way of thanking Honda for the years he has spent with the team, full of titles, and because of the need to prepare for 2024:
– The good thing is that I feel good on the bike and I try to be in the best shape and I’ll do it again in these last rounds because it’s the best way to say goodbye to Honda and my team. Even in Buriram I had good races, the Sprint and the long race, but I finished closer but still far away. I’ll keep pushing because it’s the best way to prepare for next season.
